Outliers -Chapter 8: Rice Paddies And Math Tests

Ward Hessing is a professional skydiver, Hessing served the military for a couple years after he went to college to get his degree on criminal justice and after a day of skydiving, he was terrified but challenged himself and worked hard on not letting that fear over come him , after jumping out of a plane for a while he started liking it and loved the reward he felt after landing to the ground, he gave up on law and became a professional skydiver, Ward still has the fear of jumping out of the plain but he does not give up and let his fear take over him because he enjoys the reward afterwards. I believe His life story relates to the concepts of chapter 8 in the book Outliers because in chapter 8 Asian villagers depended on rice and crops for there survival but it involved alot of hard work and good math skills and the farmers loved what they did because they enjoyed the reward after of being able to eat and trying to make their families rich by selling the rice and it relates to Ward Hessing because he worked hard to over come his fear of skydiving and the farmers worked hard to feed and get money for their families and they both enjoyed the reward it gave them. the work they do is meaningful work and ward never gaved up, he kept trying to overcome his fear and he was successful like the farmers how they didn't give up and they become successful at the end of each year of harvesting.
